Purple reigns in 2018

As you may have heard, the Pantone Color Institute has declared Ultra Violet the color of the year for 2018, stating that it “communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.” That’s great news if you happen to be fond of purple, or if it’s already one of your brand colors. And if it’s not? Should you even care? Maybe. Using a trendy color can instantly update your image, but should still work with your organization’s brand guidelines. Here are a few things to consider:

Add some purple shades to your content by using images and video that contain the color. It’s easy to do, and won’t interfere with your brand guideliness.

Introduce Ultra Violet as an accent for internal communications. It could be just the right color to promote an event this spring.

Brighten up your workspace with some new products. Shop for a candle, chair or laptop sleeve, and see if you feel like a visionary thinker. (And please let me know if you do.)

Consult a professional. If you need help with color, or any other aspect of your branding, please get in touch.
